INEC Assures Readiness of Card readers For Ondo Election

INEC To provide Voter Card Readers Today for Ondo Election

INEC Deputy Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang has disclosed that the card readers for the Ondo governorship election will be ready for configuration today, Thursday, November 17, 2016.

Dazang made this known on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, while speaking to newsmen at Abuja, Punch reports.

 “There will also be extra number of card readers to serve as backup for unforeseen or technical challenges.”  He said.

Dazang hinted that that all Electoral Officers /Assistant Electoral Officers, Local Government Area Training Officers have been trained and well informed.

 “We have also concluded the training for security personnel, supervisory presiding officers as well as presiding and assistant presiding officers.

“The commission will also commence a two-day training for Collation/Returning Officers from November 21 to November 22.” Dazang further stated.

He also said all the non-sensitive election materials have also been distributed, adding that distribution of sensitive materials will commence next week.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also announced that it will meet candidates participating in the Ondo governorship election on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
